Hamiltons- Alan Burr (Gilles Terrero) Interview

Gilles Terrero interview

The stage was clear with a head high platform with two balloons floating on top, on the stage floor was a chair where Gilles sat and addressed the audience, asking them for questions. This experience was really exciting and educational for the first half hour, then it became way too repetitive because people just kept asking similar questions. If i was director of this event i would have made sure there was a wireless microphone that could be passed around the audiance for questions that way everyone can hear others questions, and to make it easier for Gilles as he struggled to hear the questions. The event ran for 2 hours, I payed full attention for the first half hour to be honest.

Gilles Terrero graduated from mount view drama school 20years ago. From a young age he was interested in all forms of performing arts. He is currently writing a  play for the Bristol old vic called The American Clock. The advice he gave to us as a young actors was 'Be honest with yourself about what your really want from life. always know your strengths and weaknesses and go from there.'

After the interview, I sat back and reflected.... From this experienced I learnt that life is rather long and September 2020 when I will finish my college education now seems very close. Gilles Terrero inspired me to question myself weather going to university or drama school is right for Me. There are a lot of options to weigh up, especially when after this course education will not be free for me.

Life options for the future-
Drama school/ uni
Apprenticeships
Work
Gap year
Foundation course at YATI
